I love road trips, but it’s challenging to find healthy
foods while traveling. While some gas stations and rest stops carry a few
options (like fruit or pita chips) I usually don’t have much to choose from and
I often end up hangry if I am not prepared. The restaurants aren’t always the
healthiest, either!
Whether you are traveling solo, with a friend or significant
other, or with the whole family, here is a list of healthy road trip snacks you
can mix and match to fit all of your nutritional needs:
Bananas Carrots Grape tomatoes
Berries Celery
sticks Cucumber slices
Oranges Snap
Peas
Apples or applesauce packets
Dried fruit
Avocado or guacamole Yogurt
Grass-fed/pasture raised jerky
Hummus Nuts Protein bars
Peanut butter (or any other kind of nut butter)
Air popped popcorn
Pretzels
Whole wheat crackers
Rice cakes
Coconut water
Green Juice (careful of the sugar!)
Kombucha
Homemade smoothies
Don’t forget to pack other essentials, such as water, silver
gel (for hand sanitizer) paper towels, wipes, and a reusable bag for trash!
If you need to stock up on bars, dried fruits, nuts, smoothie
powders, energy drinks, bottled water or silver gel, you can shop online or
stop by your nearest Vitamin Discount Center!
