Balasana, or child’s pose, is a simple yoga pose that can be practiced at any level. This resting posture can be used at any point during your yoga practice, as it helps calm the brain and reduce stress and fatigue. It stretches the hips, thighs and ankles while relaxing the muscles on the front of the body. Child’s pose may also relieve back and neck pain. It can be used as a counter-pose to backbends, as it restores balance and stillness of the mind.
