Camp Gladiator

My co-worker Marianne attends Camp Gladiator, a 60 minute group fitness boot camp that is designed to test endurance, strength, agility, stamina, and speed. Since she’s an active member, she was able to give the gift of health for the holiday season, and offered me one free month of CG.

 I was up for the challenge and signed up for the 5:30am class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I am not a morning person by any means so waking up at 4:45 is an obstacle itself. After contemplating on going while all snuggled up in my covers (this has happened almost every morning so far), I drag myself out of bed and get ready for camp.

As soon as I arrive, our instructor, Tyler Butler, makes us run a lap and do about five minutes of warm up exercises.

From there, we participate in an assortment of activities, consisting of weights, jump rope, agility ladders, cardio, you name it. No one camp session is the same, so we never know what we’re in for. We all encourage one another and since we are always doing a variety of exercises, class goes by fairly quickly.

I’ve had lots of fun at Camp Gladiator so far. Tyler is always motivating us, and he’s dedicated to pushing everyone to reach their goals. He’s creative in his team building workouts, and he makes exercising competitive and enjoyable.

I’m determined to finish out the month of January, in hopes of getting stronger and leaner! I just need to remember to get to bed at a decent time, so I’m not tired for the majority of the next day.
