Benefits of Bromelain, Boswellia Serrata, and Bioperine
No matter what activities we choose to participate in, we all have joints that take a little abuse now and then.

Whether you are a marathon runner, looking to beat your time by a couple seconds, a parent who wants to be able to keep up with the kids in the backyard, or maybe you work in a hands-on career that leaves your fingers and wrists a little swollen at the end of the day, the endless day-in, day-out repetitive pressure exerted on our joints can leave us a little achy. Luckily for us, each joint has something called “articular cartilage”, which not only acts as a shock absorber, but also as a “teflon” coating over the surface of the joint.

Cartilage is continually being broken down and replaced. When cartilage is being broken down faster than it can be replaced, problems may occur. Over a period of time, wear and tear associated with normal aging begins to take its toll. Both situations can lead to cracks and fissures within the articular cartilage, and these fissures combined with the prostaglandins the body produces can cause uncomfortable feelings.

That’s why it is so important to not only limit the pressure exposed to these joints, but to also be proactive in lubricating, strengthening, and supporting them as well. To combat this, Mt. Angel Vitamins has formulated Inflameze Advanced--a supplement that helps support your body’s response to inflammation.

• Comprehensive daily support for joint and muscle discomfort
• Built around CurcuWIN, a clinically-studied, highly bioavailable form of curcumin that supports  multiple health benefits including joint health and antioxidant protection
• Contains Bromelain and Boswellia Serrata to support the body’s natural physical comfort levels and protect healthy collagen
• Uses standardized herbal extracts to deliver and concentrated and consistent measurement.

The Benefits of Bromelain, Boswellia Serrata, and Bioperine
Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme, found most commonly in pineapple. While effective at breaking down protein into smaller amino acids, Bromelain has been traditionally used in South America to reduce irritation and swelling. Bromelain was also utilized in Europe as an effective aide in reducing swelling after surgery. While research suggests that Bromelain helps to reduce swelling, speed up recovery times, stop bruising, and reduce discomfort, Bromelain has also been linked to a variety of other benefits, such as sinus relief, topical applications for burns, relieving irritation caused by insect bites and stings, digestion support, immune boost, and many other benefits (all the more reason to eat more delicious pineapple!)

Boswellia Serrata, also known as Indian Frankincense, hosts similar properties as well. Extracted from the gum resin of a deciduous tree from the Burseraceae family, Boswellia contains sixteen known species, but Boswellia Serrata is the species most utilized in herbal medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is best known in herbal medicine for treating arthritis through the use of boswellic acid, a powerful anti-inflammatory. But, like Bromelain, Boswellia Serrata has also been associated with a variety of other uses, including arthritis relief, immune support, asthma relief, and reduce bowel inflammation.

Bioperine (Piperine) is an extract derived from black pepper, that is most known for its ability to increase the absorption of nutrients such as vitamin C, selenium, beta-carotene, curcumin, and coenzyme Q, to name a few. But along with increasing the bioavailability of the nutrients it is partnered with, Bioperine also hosts benefits of its own, such as being an immune-booster, antidepressant, and even showing some anti-tumor properties.

Inflameze Advanced: Now contains CurcuWIN CurcuWIN™ is a staple ingredient in Mt. Angel Vitamins’ new and improved Inflameze Advanced. CurcuWIN is a clinically-studied, highly bioavailable form of curcumin, with a much better absorption rate than standard curcumin and many of the associated health benefits such as:

• Improves vascular health
• 46x more bioavailable than standard curcumin (this means better absorption into our bodies!)
• Strong antioxidant with powerful anti-inflammatory properties
• Blocks NF-kB, a molecule that travels into the nuclei of cells and turns on genes related to inflammation
• Boosts antioxidant enzyme activity within the body
• Can increase brain levels of BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, a type of growth hormone that functions within the brain)
