Don't Forget Your Obliques

Posted by Kristen Baureis on 2/24/2016 to Exercise

Since Heather and I are doing all these squats, my legs and glutes are getting firmer and more toned. My arms tone fairly easily; I’ve never had a problem with them. My core on the other hand, even though I switch up my ab workouts frequently, is stubborn when it comes to obtaining muscle.

I came across this fitness post this morning that demonstrated different oblique exercises. I am always looking for new work outs, and since I’ve hit a plateau, it’s important that I change up my routine.

Heather, Marianne and I attended a guided meditation class instructed by Lorena at Hanaq Prana Yoga Studio. Like with every class, the lights were off, we rolled out our mat and this time we sat on bolsters against the wall.

Pantry Rice

Posted by Heather Gallman on 2/8/2016 to Diet and Nutrition

Pantry Rice is when you have to get creative with the items left in your pantry after you’ve paid rent and haven’t received your latest check. The combination solely depends on the contents on an individual’s pantry; there are no shortages of possibilities.

Vegan Challenge: Complete

Posted by Kristen Baureis on 2/1/2016 to Diet and Nutrition

Yesterday was my last day of being vegan for a month. I can’t believe it’s been that long, and it feels weird that I am technically allowed to eat whatever I want.

I have eaten a lot of fruit, pasta, beans, chickpeas, (I could have eaten more vegetables but I would have about 3 servings of vegetables a day on average) and quinoa. SO.MUCH.QUINOA!
