Hot vs. Cold Showers

Posted by Kristen Baureis on 10/10/2017 to Stress Management

Showers are an important part of our daily routine. Whether you prefer a hot shower to wind down or a cold shower to wake you up, both temperatures affect our health. Depending on your body’s needs, you may want to change up the temperature every now and then to reap the different benefits!

Hot:

-          relieve muscle soreness and stiffness

-          open up the nasal passages and clear sinuses

-          lower stress/anxiety

-          remove toxins from skin

-          opens pores

-          reduces swelling

-          lowers body tension

Cold:

-          stimulates the immune system

-          boosts alertness and clarity

-          prevents colds

-          tightens skin

-          reduces fatigue

-          stimulates anti-depression hormones

-          hydrate and replenish skin and hair
