Two Saturdays ago, I took a goat yoga class with my boyfriend and old co-worker, Marianne at Hat Trick Ranch. I first heard about goat yoga on Facebook, from a farm in Oregon. It looked like something I’d love to try, but Oregon was slightly out of my reach, and there was a huge wait list.
When I found out there was goat yoga near my town, I knew I had to sign up right away! I am a huge animal lover and I love yoga, especially when I can practice outside.
It was a beautiful morning- the weather was perfect, I was in nature and there were lots of baby goats hopping around!
The Grady Goat Foundation was started because one of the goats, Grady, has polio disease. Proceeds go towards medical bills, as well as care for all of the goats. The class was an hour long, and although I tried my best to concentrate on the class, I couldn’t help but take pictures and pet the goats that came across my mat.
It was such a fun experience, and we got to hang around with the goats afterwards. I will definitely be taking another class! I recommend it to anyone that has a love for animals, nature and yoga.
Hat Trick Ranch is located off Franklin Road in Thonotosassa Florida. Classes are every Saturday, and tickets are available through Eventbrite.
